Sometime the latest drivers are not the best, especially for games which have more than one year. I would suggest you switch to the december 2007 Omega Driver, very stable (many use Omega Drivers, included myself):

No remove the old one before, then reboot and install the new one, should be cleaner.
Windows comes with restoration points anyway, you can roll-back to the first driver if this changes nothing.

Sorry if this sounds stupid I am not sure if I understand what you are saying.

But have you tried to use no screensaver at all?. Select it to none.

Or have you already tried it and it is still happening.

tried that no luck, tried another game and did the samething could my video card be bad, will that make this happen, just wierd it messed up after a week best i describe picture is like this. its like the picture is diplayed by 1/3 of the pixels, the rest are just static instead of a picture so u can just barley make an outline the stuff on screen and that is it. i dont know alot about computers but it seems like only half the picture is being presented the rest is just static. does not do it outside of my games but is now doing it to all my games. is there another application that uses video card that i could run to see if the card is still good got it back in 2002

This is indeed another indication that you should change it :)
