Can't find objective city of Port

Tue Apr 18, 2006 10:19 am

From the screenshot below, you can see that the Brits have captured the objective city of Port in the Middle States.

I cannot find this location any where on the map. I've highlighted by region, by control, by strategic and I cannot find such a location that is under control.

What am I doing wrong? Probably something really stupid.

As a future patch proposal, is there a way to make the F3 summary page of objective and strategic cities a hot link where, when you click on the name, it will jump on the map to that location?

Or is there a way to add a shortcut key some day that allows us to toggle through all of the objective and strategic city locations (similar to how we can toggle through military units)?

Nothing wrong I supect... as the British, they must surely control the region of Crown Point, and may be they have done so "before" the French fort of Fort Carillon was built...in fact, this is where the "missing" objective "city" should be, except it does not exist in that case because the French never had the opportunity to build it...

There are no other epxlanations I could see, as from the ledger list, this is the only "city" that is missing, compared to the scenario DB.

We should in fact make the region name appear if no fort or city structure appears (I guess the engine selects the structure name by default, and the only structure in the region is the port) :bonk:

This is good to know. I thought I was really doing something stupid. For the purposes of this game, however, it appears to be important for me to regain control of Crown Point so that objective is met, correct?

Here's another screenshot with the tool tip rolled over Crown Point. You'll note that there is no indication that this is a strategic or objective point, but the Brits certainly know to hold on.

Until the patch, should I regard this as an objective point that needs captured, even though the tool tip and screen don't match the F3 summary?

yes, the tooltip don't says anything because there is no town/fort, but you have to occupy the region.
