I have ordered a army from Philadelphia to fairfax and they where ploted one strange shortcut.

EDIT: They didn't take the shortcut but it looks wierd.

In the same game I also saw that units moving down walked beside the road network and it took them a shorter time walking the same distance then using the roadnetwork. Shouldn't take them longer to walk beside the roadnetwork?

Link showing the route the computer choosed: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v603/Kotik/BoA/BoA2006-03-2219-46-41-84.jpg

Link showing my ploted route (unfortunatly only red dots show the route but it is the same unit 1st pennsylvania in Arudel): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v603/Kotik/BoA/BoA2006-03-2219-45-36-79.jpg

this is mostly due because regions with roads tend to be important ones, and are thus smaller... The side effect being that overall traveling thru them ask for more region being plotted thru.

Also in BoA road don't speed up movement in clear/civilized regions, so in fact some regions with roads are here for cosmetic purpose.
