My computer also warns me about low virtual memory, Im not sute if it really called this in english becuase I use a localised WinXP. Is there a connection?

there is a big chance it is connected yes. Check that your system partition and the one where BoA runs has at least 2 gigas of HD space, to be safe.
Defragment your disk too.

BoA have 8Gb to play in and my defrag says that there is no need to defrag my HD but I did it anyway.

Can the virtual memory problem be because I only have 512 mb RAM?

and what about your system disk (where XP is located)?

also check the size of your swap file (goes for 1.5 Gb to be safe)

I don't think 512 Mb should trigger that, many users have this amount of memory without problems.

try also to On/off these options in the system tab of BoA:
preload textures
pre cache regions
high memory

for 2. yes, this is the size of the virtual memory file size, you know how to check it?

for 3., this should ask for less memory, but will slow the game when the map appears.
uncheck high memory if nothing work, this will ask BoA to release the RAM more often if it start to be full.

also, when Boa has finished loading, check the list of your process, make a inverted sort on memory usage, and see that there is not too much eaten by resident programs (unload them except anti virus!). For example Firefox can use 50 mb of memory, P2P programs (that you use only to share the holidays photos of your aunt) 50 too, Explorer a bit more, etc.

I just want to let you know that it works wonderfully now with the increased virtual memory swap file. Preformance has improved conciderbly and so far no more crashes.

Cilick on the start button and the right-click on "my computer" and choose "properties". Choose "advanced" and click on "performance". Choose "advanced" and there is on the bottom of the box is virtual memory and click on the button there and a new box will appear and there you can either allow windows to handle it or you can do it yourself.

Do you understand?
