I've been losing a morale point every 2 turns or so as GB. NM is down to 79 now.

When I mentioned this a while ago PhilThib said it may have had to do with the financial crisis. I think the crisis is over now and even if not, I notice that this isn't happening to any other country. It's not something that's ever happened to me with any of the other nations I've played in the other MP or in solo. Anyone have any idea what in the world could be causing this?

Very strange indeed... when did it start eactly?
Do you have any objective of yours that an enemy controls (Khartum?).

Aside from the crisis or the war weariness (and obviously defeat in battle), I don't see any reason for losing NM on a regular basis. I'll make a check on events to see if any mandates a loss, but I don't recall having scripted this, so it must be something encoded.

At worst I'll ask Pocus if he can "see" something...

Are you at war with someone? Usually that is the reason for a steady drop of NM. I bet it's Madi and his followers. You'll need to win some battles to reverse the loss.

It was happening long before I dowed the Mahdists. It could be due to the rebellions in West Africa. But I've won multiple battles there and have a very strong force occupying the rebellious areas.

I had forgotten about the war with Ashanti....Pocus confirmed to me the main cause is war wearyness, so it must be that. Can you make peace with those guys?

If not, we'll need to fix that via script.

May be the French can tell, they are also at war with Tukulor nation.

BTW, Pocus says there should be a Beta 1.04 patch for PON next week

A white peace with the Ashante would be excellent. Thanks.

It appears that the Spanish were not careful with matches, and their embassy in Washington DC has burned to the ground.

If it could be re-created, please?

Dear All,

I regret that I have to withdraw from the game. Various RL factors, including a change in job, significantly affects my schedule as well as my spare time. Thus, I have to drop this additional (second) game.

It has been so far and might have further been an interesting, different experience but I feel I cannot keep up with it - as recent weeks have clearly shown.

Too bad. Will miss you Andras. Glad you aren't quitting CIE!

That brings up something I wanted to say. I'd really looked forward to getting the chance to play as GB in a PON game. But I find that running two major countries in two different games takes a lot of time and effort given my rl schedule and the time I devote to other things too.

I feel like I haven't been able to devote as much time and effort as needed to play GB properly. I should be playing an active, engaged GB that's a leader diplomatically. PhilThib's Germany has pretty much taken on that role as a world leader and diplomatic force and is pretty much just kicking GB's butt in prestige too. So I'm not really doing a good job, and I think GB deserves better.

I'm not outright quitting since I really love playing GB. But I am wondering if someone might be interested/able to devote the time and energy to play GB as they should be played. Fully engaged, with tons of diplomacy and as a world leader, not a follower like my GB's been.

If anyone's interested please let me know. Maybe you could even draw up some sort of proposal for what your future plans as GB would be, and knock my socks off with it. If you can do so I might be willing to switch countries with you (whoever you are).

If no one seems up to the challenge imo then I'll keep playing as GB. But hopefully someone is. So no promises that I'll absolutely give up GB now, even if I get a few interested people. But we'll see.

I'm not leaving. Just considering switching nations with someone who could do better with GB than I'm doing. I'll still be around one way or another.

OK, I had misunderstood. If one is volunteer, why not of course. Or we can take new blood as there is also Spain to take over.

Gentlemen, sorry I have been unable to load orders for the past two turns. I went to the beach for the holiday weekend only to find that my beach house didn't have cable and internet for the summer yet(!!!). Somehow I was able to console myself with the beautiful weather, the beach, and alcohol.

I was consequently unable to respond to any messages - I haven't been able to load any turns or read the forums thoroughly yet, but if I missed a state visit or other diplo message I am extremely sorry. Send me a pm if I did and I will send the diplo offer back using my diplomats.

I hope all of my American friends had a safe and happy memorial day weekend!!

Two, as said in previous missive, for me is too much. GB would be too much as well.....quite a challenge.

From time to time, hopefully, you will not take it amiss, perhaps I will assist with English.....

to Japan.....would be more like traveling to........ toward Japan.
Declaring war is said as: on Japan...against Japan...... On is more like 'on top of' or 'over'......on the table, on one's record. Also used.....as on and off......turn the TV on, turn it off.

(I can only think how kind the folks in Sao Paulo were when I tired to speak a few words in Portuguese. And try to be that.)

Going to mention it again, I'm willing to give up GB if anyone wants them. I'm also offering Austria in the other game if that interests you, just don't have the time or energy to play two major nations in two different games and do so well, so have to get rid of one.

Lukas, I saw you tried to recruit someone in another game, or may be you could pass it over to somebody here (who in turn will leave his country)?

I'll try to contact players who would want to join, I'll let all know if I find one

Thanks Phil! If someone is willing to take over Austria in the other game then I'll keep playing GB here. Either way I need to get rid of one of the two countries, I don't really care which though.

When I saw this message, I was wondering about this as well. Must be a bug.

Edit: I'm unable to run the current turn. The game crashes when I try to load the turn.

The game log gives the following error:

Yes, there was a bug with the engine...I was forced to kill the turn and re-run everything again...looks ok now, just uploaded all files.
We shall fix the prestige issue in a few turns. I took note of the weird message

I have run into the same issue as bjfagan. My ships are not building at the rate they should. 3 turns ago, it said 15 days until completion, and yet they are not complete. They are not progressing at 15 days/turn. There appears to be some sort of display issue or something (the internal counter does not match what is being displayed on the screen).

Same here.

Regarding GB. Talking with Sir Garnet from the other game about some kind of cooperative deal, where we essentially share the duties of running GB. Haven't worked out the details, but it seems like it could be interesting. Would that sort of arrangement be ok with everyone?
