Will fix it tonight, no problem....as I explained earlier, this is an engine limitation I can't fix otherwise for the time being...I discussed it with Pocus, we'll try to work it out on a future patch

Phill, why relations between Holland and Germany degrade. Is it because of New Guinea or is it a normal decay? I am asking because I want to learn every aspect of the game and its engine!

I believe this is indeed the reason, a CB creates a reduction of the relations level. To improve it, you can work on trade (buying from / selling to the other) and offer diplomatic agreements (state visit, commercial agreements, aliances...). You can also try to find a way to reduce the CB cause, but this is not so easy, because it is linked to colonial penetrations and SOIs, something difficult to change (you can just limit your CP efforts in New Guinea for instance)...

After the Russians took my Embassy, my citizens have decided to take matters into their own hands and destroy the Russian Embassy in Washington.

Oddly enough, I didn't capture it, the engine says I razed it, and I don't see it anymore.

You guys should behave a bit more in a civilized manner...(says a German mobster that razed a Spanish embassy 2 weeks ago) :mdr:

Will fix tonight...

Apparently you need relations above a certain point for embassies to not be destroyed (or something).

I may need a couple more minutes for my turn, if that's ok. It'll be up very soon.

Ok, it's up.

Noticed something weird - I have some units that have no command cost. Everything is normal for the unit, except the black NATO symbol in the corner of the unit card is a lighter, thinner black NATO symbol, and when you scroll over the unit information, it says; Command Cost: 0.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Very strange indeed. Is this the sole unit like this or are there more?

It's all the units in that group. 1 Guard Corps, 6 Regular Corps, and 3 Cossack Cav Divisions. For right now I have them in a stack together and out of the way until we can figure out what to do about them.

I sent the save to Pocus for investigation, as it seems to be even weirder than what you see, as it duplicates your leaders pictures as wel (while obviously they are not inside the stack)...If he has time, he will check out what's wrong...in the meanwhile, please remain peaceful :mdr:

Thanks for taking a look at the save file. For now I have them sequestered in the middle of Russia and out of the way.

Phil said he was going to be bouncing around in some dingy between France and Corsica on April 30th, so he would not be able to process the turn.

Forgot to ask this, but is the dismantlement of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans set in the stone or only the events leading to the wars are present and I can prevent it.

There was only a small window between processing of the late December and early January. If there is more than a 3 hour delay, can we change processing to the next day? Several of us were at work, and unable to look at our turns.

This was exceptional for the 30th April / 1st May processing because of my being out at sea. Will resume to normal processing now.

There are almost no events of importance before 1908 (Bosnia Crisis, does not create any war, but gives tensions and CBs) and the sole real event is the First Balkan War of 1912, which you cannot really prevent (the other nations ally to declare war), but you can prepare yourself.

IMHO there are more risks in the interference with other players than from events here.

Hey there,
just wanted to quickly drop in to say I'm still alive... I've been terribly busy over the last weeks and my bad internet connection didn't help much, either. I'll travel to Berlin from Wednesday to Sunday next week, and will most likely be unable to submit turns during this time. But apart from this brief period I'm now able to participate again in the discussions on this board.

Sorry guys but I cant continue playing the two games, so I think that the best is leave this game and continue the Conflict in Europe, I will continue passing the turns of Austria until someone can take it for the rest of the game.

I have less time now, and I am not able to give a good playing level in the two games.

No problem, the AI will take over while we are looking for a replacement player. Also, the guys playing one of the minor nations could switch to your country if they wish instead.
Keep me posted guys...

Welcome..... there is actually very little Conflict in the World... note that No Military Divisions are allowed in Africa (at this time)...... and the Congo is Mine.....er, King Leopold's...... Belgium's.....and wishes Austria well. And is, generally, Neutral (at this time).

Gentlemen, unfortunately I will not be able to submit a turn for the upcoming round.

I was studying for two tests I have today I couldn't find the time to reply to e-mails or complete my PoN turns. If you sent a diplo request to Russia, I wanted to give you a heads up to cancel it.

Just judging from the flow of events in the diplomacy and news thread, the scramble for Africa is more like an orderly queue with Germany well up front. Although France has been checked by Italy in Tunisia, even Belgium (or more probably King Leopold for himself) is sating a decades-old lust for colonial grandeur. Certainly a world war like that which shook Europe early in the century is unthinkable in the face of overwhelming amiability and goodwill.

The collected scripts and adjustments will be useful for future 1880 campaigns (and maybe 1850 as well).

P.S. So far I can at least surmise from context which country each person posting represents, but for any audience it might help to head or end the post with something identifying the source (national leader or official usually of course, but sometimes a newspaper or other private interest).

Well, GB is well in front in Africa. I just haven't been posting much, due to time constraints.

It has been orderly though. GB, Germany and France all reached amicable agreements on SOI's in Africa very early on, and we're all continuing to work well together.
