I still can't combine generals and troops. Does anyone/erveryone else have the same problem?

Phil, is this something that will need to be fixed before we submit turns so we don't run into the same problem as last time with the files changing between turns 1 and 2?

EDIT: I'm also unable to see any trade zones other than the UK, so am unable to place orders. I seem to remember being able to place orders on the first turn before. Is this a problem or wad?

Leader combine seems to work fine with me, so we need to see if the issue remains after the initial turn.
The absence of trade offers on T1 is also normal, there is no AI activity yet, nor player activity. It will come with the first turn hosting.

Well, Jim-NC will need to work this out...but I am unsure.. :bonk:

I took Lucas GBR orders from there, so I supposed everyone could see that. All other nations orders were sent by mail, so I took the ones in the mail (and then placed a copy on dropbox for reference)

Good thing I enclosed the saves in the mail then (please check your mailbox, it's T2.rar attachment)

I can see what Jim added and it sees that Phil at least can see the .ord I added, but I can't see what Phil or Martin added. So something weird's going on, for sure.

It looks we all can download the folder and then locally add files, but it is not on the server ... when I compare it with "PON Conflict in Europe" folder, which I have still, our folder is not marked "shared".

It looks Jim used "Share link" but we need "Invite Folder" which makes folder shared ... look on the picture, I tried it with folder "Try" ...

When I look at the shared folder option I only see Jim and myself listed as members. Whereas for the CIE folder there's roughly a billion people listed.

Brian sent me an invite and I'm in.....also, I uploaded all of the other trn files from PhilThib...... everybody else needs to be inviting in/accept invites..... trn two looks good!
I don't see Jim or Lukas tho'....? Hopefully not two separate dropbox entries..... ??

I got a link for it but I think wasn't actually invited since my folder doesn't update, I only have there the two initial text files.

Yeah, no files in dropbox at present........

(There is a way to recover files.....I know I moved some in the other game, instead of copying and pasting...... I don't know how to do it tho'.......)

Apparently, I (or Brian - not sure which) created 2 versions of the World in Conflict folder. I have deleted the one that had the least members in it. I will say it is my mistake and fault. I think I invited people differently while doing it.

So the dropbox with the most people attached is Brian's, and it is the one to keep. It has a file labeled 1880 in it, as well as the welcome. Here is a screenshot of the people who are on it. I have removed identifing information.

I will take the blame for the drop box oops. I believe I did not share it properly every time (so there were 2 files created, with brian owning 1).

There were 2 drop box folders labeled "World in Conflict". I have deleted the one with the least members. Below is a list of those who have joined or been invited to join. You should see a folder labeled 1880 in the WIC folder, which has a turn in it. Please update your information in the details file.

There are 3 people who have not joined the drop box yet. It may take a day or 2 to sort out the drop box issues, and again I apologize for not getting it right on the first try.

Joined now, I had 2 confusing invitations to a folder with same name and I had the older one removed.

Now, to support Lindi questions:

* what is the rythm and deadlines...as in the other game (daily 21:00 PM CET?)
* who handles the hosting ? I can do it if you agree
* who is going to be the game's referree (if we have one?)? - I guess this may be important for players who will want to have secret treaties, so a third-party non-playing person might be required

Cheers

Proper Usage of Dropbox and files

Sat Mar 16, 2013 10:59 am

I noticed that on the dropbox, some TRN files have a different size and time than the one that should be there (all must be from 14:20 dated yesterday). I erased them, because at best it will create a CTD on the hosting machine, at worst its suspicion of cheating (a reprocessed turn)

In no case the TRN files supplied by the host shall be reprocessed, or we shall have issues with the game proper running. Same (even worst) with the HST file... :(

Also I suggest those of you who desire it to protect their ORD file with the password option provided by the game.

If/when I do the hosting, the TRN files will be uploaded after each hosting, zipped (to gain space on dropbox). The only thing you need to do then is to re-upload before deadline your latest ORD files.

Misisng ORD files

daily 21:00 PM CET = is good for me that.

who handles the hosting ? I can do it if you agree = Your are the Game Designer so always good xD

* who is going to be the game's referree (if we have one?)? - I guess this may be important for players who will want to have secret treaties, so a third-party non-playing person might be required = Neutral men is need here, so not palyer I think. maybe other player of Conflict in Europe if one is open for that and he have time?

As soon as everyone is online in the dropbox and is familiar on how to use it and how it should look (exactly the same as the other game, with the files in the folders by dates), we can begin doing one turn per day, preferably due at the same time as the .ord's for the other game so that the players in both may do both turns at once while they have PoN open.

As for a referee or moderator as Lindi suggests, I also had hopes of having one. PhilThib, is it possible there is another dev who would lend his time to arbitrating arguments if they arise in the game? If not, I would suggest once a contentious issue comes up we vote as players and make the final decision the precedent going forward.
