Long distance moving in the West

Fri Jul 18, 2008 8:31 pm

Just a quick question and I apologize if someone has brought this up before but I couldn't find a related thread. Why does it take me thirty some days (or more depending on the weather and supplies) to go two counties in KY, when it only takes 11 days or so to march from Oregon to Sioux City?

I realize it is a representation of a possible 'what if' campaign in a backwater location of the war but 1800 miles in less than two weeks is cruising right along.

I'm paying for moving my garrisons out and the Rebs are all over Arizona and San Francisco.

Note: Previously there was a movement bug in the off-map boxes, that might have shown its ugly little head again.

I'm playing with v1.07. I do not have v1.10, yet. I will download it before I play again.

However you now have me questioning where I moved from to get to Sioux City. I was sure it was direct with no stopping in Denver. I'm probably totally wrong about it now that you point it out. It was a number that stuck in my head when I wondered why it took so long just to move one region in KY. I thought to myself, "cripe moving from Oregon doesn't take as long." :bonk:

If v1.07 is your actual original version (You have not updated to any other update yet), I suggest downloading the next patch (v1.11) which is due out in the next few days and applying it directly to your v1.07 game installation.

Thanks for the info on v1.11, I'll watch the list to see when you have it out.
And you were totally correct, I moved not from Oregon but from Denver.
