How to slow down the battle animation speed?

Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:25 pm

Greetings Everyone,

I happen to find this game at my local best buy, and considering me being a history buff and all, like I think everyone else here is too, hehe, I totally had to check this out, and all. While the learning curve is steep, I was pretty determined to understand the game, and now I think I've finally grasped the game hehe , however, I do have one question about the delay on the Battle Animation speed.. (I've tried doing a search, but came up empty there)

I noticed, in the options menu, you can set it to high, so it goes slower, and all, however, in my eyes, the Red-Green battle animation still goes way, way to fast for my liking. Now the I'm wondering, are they any ideas on how to make it slower? Like maybe, an edit in the ini files or something?

That's about it, once again thanks for the help :)

The speed of the animation seems to depend on the scale of the battle. The larger the forces involved - the slower the animation.

I agree with the OP, it's very hard to make heads or tails from the red-green BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM *victory music* animation. Would be handy to know range at which firing began and all that (I like to have the range advantage and blow people to bits when I am still out of range, yes, I am like that).

Hi!
You have the range info and a lot more details about why and how you won or lost the battle in the battle report window.
Pass the mouse over the diferent icons on to bottom and the tooltips will tell you a lot of things.
I recommenf to select the option which shows the battle report after each battle, stoping the turn process. Its better to know what happens. IMHO.
Latter, after the turn porcess you can check again the report if you want by clicking on the appropiate line on the message log.
Regards!

Ohh, I have no problem with the detailed message reports about the battle. I prefer that, however, I just curious if there was anyway to increase that delay animation speed then what it currently is, just for drama sakes i guess , hehe :)

ya there is something on the options, I set it to the highest it can be possible be, but it still goes buy to fast in my eyes.

Like I stated, its just for appearance sake, just wish that would last a tad bit longer then it is, I wonder if its because of the speed of my computer and all , not sure ..

When you see the battle animation start, take a deep breath, and turn around until you hear it stop. Wait as long as you want, holding your breath, clenching your teeth, while the suspense takes you over. Then turn around and look at the outcome.

Sure, the speed of your computer make it go faster.
On my poor 4 years old PC on the slowest option can take while on big battles (8-10 secs)
