Field hospital, what is their mission?

To my surprise I can not find a word about Field Hospital in the manual, nor the Forum or the Wiki. I am probably missing something. Can someone plase tell me their exact mission? Thanks.

They help the units in the same stack to recover cohesion faster. I think the speed increase is 15%.

All special abilities have tooltips in the element detail screen that can be used in lieu of info elsewhere
