Coordinating Army and Corps Attacks

Wed Jul 18, 2007 6:10 pm

Okay, despite the fact that my laptop will not play AACW at anything like the speed needed to run the game smoothly I decided to buy it anyways.... I wait for ever for each turn to come around but I am sooo pleased I bought the game. :p leure:

Now for a few proper questions:

I am playing the CSA. I have three armies: 1 under Lee, 1 under Beauregard, 1 under Johnson. Each has three corps consisting of around two divisions each. The HQs have an Arty Bn attached as well as other HQ type units. The Divs are mainly infantry, 1 cav and 1 arty bn.

What I want to find out is how people have controlled their armies to gain maximum (Union) killing potential. I know about the coordinating move button and use it. Sometimes however, my Armies seem to move in ways I didn't anticipate.

So I wonder what other people do to max out the chances of victorious battle. :king: Do you keep Army and Corps in the same region? Next to each other? Can you get any benefit if they are further apart (other than by virtue of lifting some of the command restrictions? Do you have any examples of success.

The biggest battle so far for me has been where the north has lost 11,000 to my 5,500. Can I do better? Please advise.... :fleb:

PS: apologies if this should be in the strategy forum? :niark: :siffle:
The true summit of perfection is the preservation of order in disorder, and of system in confusion...
