How important are the two systems? What do people spend their money on Riverine or ocean? Neglecting our marine assets is it sucidial? Does Bomardment play a signicant part in the game? Just interested in peoples opinions.

I started out as CSA ignoring shipping because I felt very cash-strapped. Late Oct of '61 and I'm steadily adding to my pool of both riverine and ocean-going ships. Getting some blockade runners into the box should get me some cash.

regarding bombardment, it appears damage is much more reasonable now then it was before. IE I no longer have entire fort stacks wiped out by bombardment.

however as the south you have to debate the merits of buying HA replacements at 15 war supplies a pop... to replace losses from these units. I think I will do some poking around to see what sort of damage these forts did take during bombardments.

as it stands now id almost be tempted to destroy the forts and pull all the garrisons into citys I need to defend as the replacement costs in war supplies is so high for heavy artillery.

As it stands now, the damage done by bombardments is fairly insignificant. Some people like it that way. I do not. I was not a fan of the old system either. I think the new system is less unbalanced, but still an overcorrection.
