How long to process turn?

Sun Jul 08, 2007 2:28 pm

It seems to be taking longer and longer to process my turns. I'm in late August, 1862, and I decided to time how long it takes from when I hit the End Turn button to when the "Processing Confederate AI Moves" message disappears (I'm Union playing the April 61 campaign). I counted 2 minutes 40 seconds.

Is this a lot of time, or par for the course for this game? I have an Athlon XP 3200 . . .

It only takes about 30 seconds for me but I am in July 1861 and bought a new PC recently.

I have a decent computer and it started about 30 seconds and then gets progressively longer as more units/battles occur. 3-4 minutes now in 1864 for 61 campaign. There are a lot of calculations in this game.

I also have an Athalon 3200. I see a similar trend as turns progress and similar times, 2+ minutes in Late '61. The AI take more time the more courses of possible action (yours and its) there are... and then it sneaks into Louisville.

Until I realized you were talking about the AI, I thought somebody else besides me was getting slower as they got older...
