In a pbem I was able to defeat a small garrison and capture New Albany, IN with a cavalry raid. Much to my delight there was a river ironclad there which I also captured. Unfortunately it was 20+ days until it would become operational, and I obviously couldn't stick around for that. So I destroyed the railroad and scurried back into KY before the inevitable pursuit from the USA. But I had to leave that nice ship behind.
Question about a feature for the distant future: should/could we be allowed to destroy a captured ship in a case like this much the same way we can destroy a depot or RR? I imagine it might be a coding nightmare (thus the "distant" part

) but realistically it seems like a viable historical option to me. It sure would have made it more enjoyable in this case to take that city!
