HQ Reinforcements

Tue May 15, 2007 7:19 am

Divisional HQ unit are non state specific which creates a problem I think. I have a 3 star general in the West and have created an army.and a couple of corps, but I want some divisonal commanders there as well, but they keep turning up in Washington or somewhere on the East Coast, It takes 60 days or more to get them to the Mid West. Is there a way to get them roughly where u want them?

Short story: no

Slightly longer story: I think Pocus et al have mentioned that leaders travelling alone might be able to travel a lot faster (instantaneous?) in a (the?) upcoming patch.

Man, look through the forums. This has been hashed, rehashed, and served over easy with hash brown potatoes.

When the next patch emerges (apparently in about a month or so), division HQs - and all others - will be deader than Elvis's career after "I Wanna Hold Your Hand."

Of course, the command structure we already know and love will be preserved.

We give thanks for what we are about to receive...

With all due respect, Pasternakski, and provided I have understood the upcoming changes correctly, it will still be a "problem"/challenge that division commanders-to-be usually turn up in Washington when you need them out west.

Send them by rail.

It takes 72 days to send an officer from Washington to St. Louis. Hit the rail movement button and it takes 34. Send an officer from Washington to Cincinnati it takes 42 days. Hit the rail movement button and it takes 20.

No wonder you were complaining that you had some 'communication difficulties' in other forums ... and this post is just an example

Personal Attacks vs Colorful Expression

An example of what? Pasternakski pointed out that there are there threads that have not only discussed this subject at length, but contributed to a game design change that will implemented in an upcoming patch. His style is unique and at times eccentric, but the content of his posts is generally thoughtful.

This is a small forum. Reading through the threads to be aware of signficiant discussions on a topic to avoid covering the same ground twice is not all that difficult and courtesy to the community as a whole.

So I would recommend read a few more threads and avoid making personal attacks on someone because you dislike thier style of expression.

Sorry to cause any drama here, u can call me blind or lazy or u may say my comprehension is poor or what ever, and yes I did see the thread on what maybe happening to divisional HQ in the future, that doesn't solve the issue with my current game and the question is relevant, hence the answer given by a forum member satisfying my query. This member could have flamed me as well, pissing me off evening more, but chose to help in a friendly manner. Remember there are no dumb questions in life, just dumb people that don't ask questions.

the issue about travel time of generals is slightly different indeed. This is why we will kill 2 birds with a stone within one month or so, with the Relocate Special Order, that will allow you to move in one turn either a general or an army HQ, within a reasonable distance (but greater that the distance you could have traveled by rail), x time a turn (perhaps 3).
