---> AACW 1.02a quick fix <---

Mon Apr 30, 2007 7:24 pm

Dear players,

A new quick fix, 2 bugs were spotted by several players during the week-end. The fix should clear these issues, and some others.
Note that another update is due later this week to solve the issue some had with Winter images, giving some troubles to their video cards.

A BoA patch is also due, for the second part of the week. Last but not least, the AACW demo is nearly ready.

AGEod's American Civil War Update 1.02a Readme

==============================================================================

This patch contains all changes since the start.
You can continue a saved game created before the patch. Most entry will apply, but not all.

==============================================================================
Bugs Fixes
==============================================================================
fixed: In some cases, dismissing an army with a path would cause a crash.
fixed: Several combine/detach issues corrected for divisions.
Some units would generate the message :'requested to move but not moving' erroneously

==============================================================================
Game Play, Rules Additions and Changes
==============================================================================
Blockade formula rechecked, was too harsh when one box had no ships.
Replacements are now used to refill weakened regiments before creating new elements in units.

==============================================================================
Scenarios Additions and Changes
==============================================================================
CSA garrisons adjusted so to not take new replacements.
Fort Sumter is now only defended by an artillery battery and crew (April 61)
The St Louis Massacre event further tweaked.
+1 Army HQ on both side, to be in line with the intended number.

==============================================================================
AI
==============================================================================
AI will bombard less often enemy forts.
AI will put less emphasize on militia building.

Note about the AI: No reworking of the Ai algorithms have been done, so expect the same initial behavior as in the 1.02 version.

I had decided to put the game aside for a while ,because the fort/ replacement issue was spoiling my inept attempts to defend the CSA.
Hey presto! 13 minutes later ,you put out a new patch. Many thanks.
I suggest Pocus for president of the Republic.

Yes...but for as President of the CSA...

anyway...I am happy as I know many other gamers on the quick responses and assistance on the patch updates.
However, I note that the patch number which usually appears on the right bottom of the screen as the game is loading is missing.
Thanks ....

Are version 1.02 saved games compatible with the patch, or will it require a restart?

Well, the 1.02a zip that I just downloaded has a different size: 8.853.390; and packed: 8.625.577. Maybe it is corrupted ?
I will wait until sure that it is ok

According to the bold black text in Pocus' post above, "This patch contains all changes since the start. You can continue a saved game created before the patch. Most entry will apply, but not all," you should be fine. I have loaded two 1.02 saves into this new build, and both loaded and played without issue.

Indeed, the version number did not show, so I fixed that, and uploaded again the patch. Everything should be ok by now.
