Gaining control of enemy provinces

Does a units command posture change how much control is gained per turn? For example, will my brigade of infantry gain more control of an enemy province with assault orders verus defensive orders?

no, as long as you are not passive. If you are not alone, you can only gain controls by battling the enemy though.
