Pocus Focus

Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:09 pm

I gather that Pocus is Focused on watching these threads, getting bug reports via email, and applying his +2 Improvement modifier in a concentrated effort for the first month after AACW was released.

I am considering starting a Campaign PBEM this weekend, and was wondering a great many things;

How often do you *think* you may issue GI's (Game Improvements), keeping in mind the Weekends?

Should I consider the first PBEM campaign to be a dry run, to help Focus Pocus on GIs?

I'd hate to commit to a long campaign, only to have to start over because a patch will render it non-continuable, so what are the chances of that?

However, if Runyan99 is willing, I would not mind doing a Campaign for the purpose of the GIs.

Thanks, Pocus and Co. for your fine work and attention to detail and historical accuracy in your games.

These are the strategy games I have always wanted, and I am so very happy to have them.

Sandra, love the art work - how far away are we form the Artwork patch (err, GI) to add more faces and the Map Key to the South East corner map edge?

GIs? Dunno, BOA has been released in february 2006 and it still have GIs, or patch or update whatever... next week there will be a new BOA patch to fix some things, and perhaps add one or two noveltie (we would like to add the spiking of guns, a long time request eg).

That said, we try to not break saves, because we know that restarting a campaign every week is not a good thing. I can just give you one example, Chris Hobbes one of our long time BOA tester, along with Gene, a buddy played to the end the full 1775 campaign over several months. And they patched a ton of time meanwhile without problems.

My advice would be to wait say the next tuesday or wednesday, so that all major bugs and scripts problems are fixed. A good indicator is when you start to see us issuing mostly AI improvements and new features, then you can guess that bugs are starting to be rare :)

The Map Key is done so it should be in the next patch. Someone else has been asked to do the portraits, so I know nothing about them.
