Yes, there is a rumor that some people here and there feel that the save game system is a bit unconventional. I don't mind mind that, as every true player I never reload but prefer to perish with flying colours....
(There are actually some reasons, which I forgot, why the save game system is as it is.)
Your save isn't overwritten but copied to a backup folder and a new save is written. At all you have 24 turns saved which you can recover. The only flaw may be that if you load a previous turn your current one is lost...
The games are saved under: [font="Courier New"]...\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW\Saves\[/font]
You can manually create a backup of your savegames before loading a previous turn and copy the files back if you decide to continue with your latest.
A good idea may also be to delete the save games of discontinued campaigns as with every new game you start a new save-game-tree is created.
