is any online activation required for the downloaded version of the game or it is activated by the serial number method?

How big is the download file?

What digital download service is used? Gamer's Gate?

When will demo be posted and can we buy and activate from the demo?

Its about 460mb. Went pretty quick for me. Someplace in Paris, I can't pronounce it nor spell it. Rasnell, if you are an ACW fan and in need of some gaming, buy it NOW. Don't wait on the demo, it is awesome. Mike

I absolutely love BOA and will support Pocus and the team because of their outstanding customer service and the most bug-free release of any game that I've ever purchased (BOA).

However, just like BOA, I have huge problems with downloads of anything over 200 meg.

Pocus, or anyone, can this download come in chunks or via my Internet Download Manager which allows me to resume exactly where it stops?

I have satellite internet and this stupid fair use access policy stops me at 200 meg for a couple of hours.

ah yes Rasnell, was it you who asked some months ago about BOA in chunks?

I can do that for you yes.

Yes. In fact your incredible personal service is why I'm such a loyal customer. We had to split BOA into several files for it to work.

Perhaps we can avoid this if your download service has changed. If I can resume a download where I left off, then I should be able to get the full file in two or three sessions.

What would you suggest as my best course, Pocus?

Well, Pocus, I'm going to need that same kind of personal service again. I purchased and downloaded for 10 hours and have nothing to show for it, thanks to this awful satellite internet that caps my downloading.

I got to 240 megs and then was cut off. Using Internet Download Manager, I was able to resume and somehow have dropped back to only 140 meg showing up as downloaded.

This appears to be a pure .exe file and is not zipped. If this was zipped, would it cut the file size down significantly enough?

I've got a three-day weekend to play and it looks like it's going to slip away. Rats.

Please let me know if you can split this into five files of under 100 meg and send me details of all the correct steps. I can send you my proof of purchase via e-mail.

Address is snell@hughes.net.

I really had my heart set on this based on the extremely favorable comments you are getting in the forum.

Hi again,

I think you will be able to play this week-end

I'm preparing you the files, in the meantime, send me by private mail your serial key, so that I do the things in all legality !

Update: the connection quality is very low where I'm. I doubt this will be done before tomorrow 12:00 GMT... :bonk:

While waiting on Pocus, I went ahead with the download using my Internet Download Manager which allows me to resume stopped downloads. After 40 hours and two days of trying, I finally had the entire file.

It said corrupted and I would have to start all over again. The problem is my satellite internet which caps me at 200 megs per 4 hours and then shuts me down.

I'm hoping to hear from Pocus about a split file of around 100 meg per split. This is what we had to do with BOA and just shows the outstanding service of this company and these independent developers.

I'm disappointed because my vacation comes to an end and I won't get the chance to try it out.

Is the 461 meg file compressed by zip or any other fashion? It's just too big for a digital download for me.

There used to be a USA service where you could have a CD-burning company download huge files for you and you would pay them for the CD and shipping. Wonder if that option exists any more?

Meanwhile, hoping to hear from you, even on a Sunday, as you indicated you would try, Pocus. Thanks again.

Hi again Roger,

I'm back before my computer, and with a proper connection. I tried several time before from where I was, but each time I had disconnect and did not achieve anything, even on a single file.

I have started uploading the files now, and they should be all on the server in 1h30, but you will be able to download the first in 30 mn. Watch your private mail :)

The executable is a compressed executable, it won't shrink in size.
