What is the minimum system required to play this game?

Minimum and definitively playable on a 1 ghz with 512 mb of main memory and a 128 mb video card.
To get less lag when scrolling the (huge) map, 1 gb of main memory is advised though.
To have a mouse cursor which reacts faster, a 1.5 to 2 ghz and a video card from 2 years of less is advised.

Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. that the spec requirements might be relaxed? I really want to play the game already but I'm nowhere near a PC with 128MB video card for at least another year. That means I have to play it on my ever so transportable IBM x40. I can do that with BOA. From what you've just written I'm not sure I'll be able to do it with ACW.
How much can your customers demand in any one day...? With your commitment to your fan base it seems that you have everything covered. I have a feeling though that this one will be just too difficult to fulfill what with your lovely looking map and counters.
I can hope though can't I?

If you can play BOA, then you will be able to run AACW. Now I can't tell you if the game will be too slow for you, as it depends of your exacts specs and how you as a player supports some lag.
If you have 512 Mb of RAM, then you will get from time to time some lag when you jump from a corner of the map to another.
If you have an old video card (or a laptop one not meant for games), you can check how fit is your video card for the BOA serie.
1. In BOA, Options window, system tab check errors logging. You should see a red writing to the left with something like 25 FPS written.
2. Open BOA 75, campaign, click on the center mouse button to zoom out to maximum.
3. Be sure to be at maximum zoom-out. Select the continental army, and wait 2 seconds.
If you still have 25 FPS, then its perfect.
If you have between 15 and 24, you can play AACW with a slight slowness.
If between 10 and 14, the game will be slow.
Under 10, AACW will be too slow for comfortable play (but milleage may vary, with Hardware Mouse Cursor option I can play at 5 FPS
