VPs and Cities

Tue Nov 09, 2010 3:04 am

Just happened to start a PBEM (Full Campaign) this weekend and we're only at late May 61....noticed that the South's accumulated points per turn from cities was 30 (CSA) to 35 (Union) on the objectives tab.

Using the latest patch (1.16 Beta Patch 9)

Seemed really off to me, since we've not had any battles and the CSA has taken Grafton, WV and Ft. Sumpter. Aren't there way more cities on the map and is there any particular reason they wouldn't generate points?

Will take a look and see if it changes next turn in any manner.

Thanks Gray.

So what influences points from cities? And what would cause such a stark drop from high 40s to 30 in only a few turns w/o essentially any battles? Is it something to do with Grafton?

Didnt realize that figure could change so dramatically w/o swapping possession of places. (Thought it was a static total to be split between the two sides but perhaps this is mistaken)

I just did a dry run (Start full 2 Theater Campaign) and just ended turn over and over til Late May and It's at 49 (CSA) to 38 (USA).

Confused...any randomness per turn possible that could cause a total to be higher/lower even if the same cities are held?

Backed it up for a look:

Previous turn showed 49 (CSA)to 34 (USA) in Early May
CSA then took Grafton, WV and we end up at the 30 (CSA) to 35 (USA) in Late May. No other region/city changes that turn.

Just makes no sense (ie how does CSA lose 19 points for taking Grafton and USA gain 1 point for losing it)

Really odd.

1861: April - Full 2 Theater Campaign

Advanced a turn to early June and now it shows: CSA 51, USA 34 (points accumulated each turn from Cities)
CSA lost Grafton on that sequence.

Does the graphic line under Victory Points:

"Points accumulated each turn from Cities" somehow represent more than just that?

No problem. Files attached below.

I saw you're on a big project at the real job, so no worries. I am just going to play and enjoy.

Perhaps Grafton is a leper colony or something and you DON'T want to be in posession of it. :mdr:
