Question about marching to the sound of guns

Does Marching to the sound of guns still apply when you attack the enemy or does it apply only when you're attacked by the enemy?

methinks it applies when you attack also; I haven't heard anything that contradicts that, at least

Marching to the sound of the guns can apply to either attacking or defending.
