Total Blockade is confusing me.

Sat Oct 25, 2008 4:49 pm

The Union's choice of Inspecting all shipping (Total Blockade) is confusing the devil out of me.

It says I will get 15 thousand Dollars, 25 VP (I think its 25) and 1 NM and will alter European Intervention by 55% (-7 to -15) or 45% (+7 to +15)

I am not sure its true. I think I get the money but I think it takes away NM and VP? Also I think I am unlucky as it always gives a plus to Intervention :( so it worth it for a 15 thousand dollars or am I missing something?

Aye.

The intervention thing is just a luck thing. As the USA you have a slight advantage about being good for you (55% good for you, 45% bad).
And you really get +1 NM which is always a good thing and some money and VP.

As the USA i always use it two times a year. Unless you are very unlucky and the CSA is near of obtaining intervention. I that case maybe you don't want to risk a possible +15 intervention points.

Cheers

I always take the option; money's good, VP's good, NM's good and in the long run (when you play this option regularly), you should end up reducing FE through it.

If you always find it increasing your FE, you are indeed unlucky. BTW, wanna play poker some day? :D

Well I've taken the event twice in this game so far and FI is at 26 and I have only just lost the lead in VP (NM has always been lower). On top of which I have set the bar for FI lower (75).

Eek.

Erm, I'll pass on the poker if its all the same. :D

Aye.

Something to consider is that FI is not just an on/off thing, where the USA is safe until it reaches 100. The higher it is, the bigger are the chances that the CSA get secret subsidies or even free blockade runners.

Well the balance for my turn when I use Total Blockade is indeed -15 victory points & -1 moral point but I also get +50k dollars.

So what is correct, the description of the "Total Blockade" telling me that I gain 50k dollars, 15 victory points & 1 moral point or is the balance right and I gain 50k dollars but loose 15 victory points & 1 moral point???

Sorry I thought I shouldn't start a second thread with more or less the same problem.
I make one now.
