AI aggressiveness buttons

Mon Oct 13, 2008 2:30 pm

Hello,I have a question maybe some experienced players can help me with. In all the campaigns I played,I always have the aggressiveness button on normal, for "optimized behavior". Now I'm wondering about the low and high buttons. For instance, will the high button make the AI more aggressive or just more reckless? Would it help if, for example, I'm union, playing a confederate AI, too set the button low,so the confederates don't waste manpower on fruitless attacks, but saves to fight defensively? Or vice versa, a high aggressive union AI constantly applying pressure on the confederates?
I guess it boils down to this-does the low button make the AI cautious or passive? Does the high button make it more aggressive or just suicidal recklessness?
Thanks! :D

You will likely find that opinions on this are split between solo players and PBEM players. I'm mostly a PBEM player (AI only for experiments), so I'd say passive/suicidal. Still, it's fun to watch sometimes.

Many moons ago, someone suggested setting the CSA/AI to low aggressiveness combined with high(er) FOW advantage for interesting results. Haven't tried it, but there's bound to be some dynamic between these two categories of settings.
