Say Pocus:

One of Athena's traditional opening moves is to attack Bowling Green (as the south). When I first started this game i didnt understand what a stupid move that really was, would it be too hard to change that flaw in her AI, to have her do it perhaps at a latter date when she perhaps has the momentum to back such a plan?

Hard, not. Time-consuming, yes. Let me check where I can insert that in my list of things to code.

One AI Fine Tune Request - RR Repair

Mon Apr 28, 2008 12:25 pm

Pocus,

I've spent most of my time playing the Union, so I figured perhaps the CSA's lack of units and war supply in the first year or a so was factor, but CSA Athena just doesn't repair RRs. Then I started playing CSA and have discovered the same thing with Union Athena - she just doesn't repair RRs. Understand your list of tweeking and honing is long and never ending, but can you look at Athena's code for RR repair? Right now as the CSA, MS, TN, KY, PA, NJ, and Maryland are one gigantic wasteland of destroyed RRs - many with Union units sitting in them for months. Something seems to be missing in Athena's code regarding this function.

Good point! I don't believe that I ever seen the AI repair RRs adequately. E.G., in my current 1.10 Beta3 game as the Confederates, I have destroyed many Union RRs in both East and West and have not seen any attempts by AI to repair.

Hi!
I can confirm bk6583 report!.
I just forget to report this problem before :bonk:
I had seen Athena repair RR some times so its no something she cannot do, but she does it very few times.
If the human player does a RR cutting campaign soon she will be chocked.
When i play agaisit the Ai i usually refrain from doing too much RR cutting, except when on support of some strategic move, just to make thing more interesting.
As Pocus has mentioned elsewhere he will spend some time on may doing AI work, i hope he can take a look at this. :coeurs:
Regrads!

wow Bk thks I hadnt noticed it either but its true.......I started cutting her up pretty bad, and even tho she cuts me when she can I have yet to see her repair anything.
Since i keep reloading and reloading, to try and get my DC exploit to work (failing) i hadnt noticed lol
