In a somewhat less frustrating but still unusual move, in the last game I played the USA navy office built a monitor in Pittsburgh.
In both cases, shouldn't there be some way to stop ocean-going ships from being built at inland cities?

This includes Morehead City (instead of Moorehead City), and Smithville (instead of South Port). Smithville also involved changing the Militia Garrison name to match.
These name changes were verified against the names and data in "The Official Military Atlas of the Civil War"

Imagine my surprise to find that the CSA navy dept. had contracted for him to be built in Muscle Shoals (Tuscumbria AL). Not a really useful place for him since I think he will not be able to enter any river areas and so will spend the remainder of his worthless, 6 WS, life in Tuscumbria. Good news for the crew, though. Much nicer to go swimming at Muscle Shoals than to brave the US Navy on the high seas.![]()
