Marines special ability

Tue Apr 29, 2008 1:28 am

So I bought the game a couple weeks ago now and am enjoying it a great deal. These forums have been a big help with some clarifications on specifics and general gameplay. What I wanted to know for certain is if the Marines special ability is calculated into a Corps supporting another with March to the Guns if you have to cross a river into the zone the combat is taking place?

Every day of march hits 1 cohesion point (last patch), and reduces chances of marching so 50% reduction in cost move will hit you less cohesion and upgrade your chances to march.

Thanks. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I saw somewhere that the Army HQ force has a higher percentile chance of supporting a subordinate Corps than the Corps do of supporting each other? If that is the case then as the CSA you would do better to have the Marine element in the Army HQ stack or internal divisions so long as it is central or adjacent to both or more subordinate Corps? (taking into account that the CSA are limited on the amount of Marine elements they can field)

Yes, the Army stack does have a higher chance, and for your proposed situation, it would be better to have it there.

I usually put them in stacks that I will be making offensive moves with.

Hi Sorvats, and welcome to the forums; always nice to see others from British Columbia around here Image

Just wanted to point you in the direction of http://www.ageod.net/aacwwiki/Marching_to_the_sound_of_the_guns, which has more information about probabilities and suchlike when it comes to marching to the sound of the guns
