Depot Destruction

Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:35 am

What is the "penalty" for destroying a depot? I thought I once read somewhere it affected a regions supply if destroyed (like there is less production throughout the entire grand region or something).

Somehow Banks, yes Nathaniel good for nothing Banks, well almost good for nothing Banks, led a 3 element volunteer unit and captured Manassas Junction in my PBEM. But this is Banks we're talking about, and I probably really upset TJ Jackson, who is probably running in from the Valley as we speak ... so before I destroy the depot, I wanted to be sure of all the ramifications.

No penalty other than you won't be able to gather and push supplies forward from there. Neither will the enemy if they recapture Manassas. Later on, you will probably need to rebuild it.

The process of capturing a city (or region) tends to reduce its production, but only slightly. A completely disloyal city (or region) will only produce about 1/3 what it would if it was completely loyal. One of those might be what you are thinking of.

Depots produce a small amount of supply themselves (4 gen/1 am), that of course will disappear if the depot is destroyed. Other than that, I haven't heard of any other ramifications.
