Confused About the Latest Patch

Sun Dec 02, 2007 9:28 am

If I just download the AACW patch listed in the "Latest Patch" area of the forums, will I receive a patch that avoids the issues with rail lines now being broken and the admiral wanting promotion?

I'm getting confused about official patches and mod patches.

I really think AGEOD should just post 1 patch version per update. But I think this issue only affects AACW?

Not much to be confused about, if you read the forums while both patches are labelled H, they have different names and each is explained in detail. Just get the one you think you'd like most. :)

Right but they don't tell me which patch btoke the rail network and in which, admirals protest land general promotions :p leure:

Are these broken in both or just the mod patch?

Cheers,
Adam.

Hi Gary, just taking my feedback from reading the posts. I got the impression that prior to the latest patch everything was working ok and the mod was to add some historical rail flavor but somehow now (after which 1.07 patch version I don't know), the rail system isn't connecting all areas.

I'm just looking for the most stable version of the game.

IMO the worst thing AGEOD could do from now on, is complicate its releases with different patch versions like Harpoon.

It should just make a decision and say if a change is good enough, "this is the official version".

They are both official patches.

One has no modder's work. So you won't get the sterling work by Gray Lensman to fix the RR links. This is for those who don't want anything that isn't done by AGEOD itself.

The other has the work.

Go here: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=6474 for the difference between the two.

I appreciate your dedication Gary.

I'm surprised your efforts aren't called "official" if your fixing things!

Cheers and thanks for clarifying the situation,
Adam.

Rail issues are with 62 Campaign only

Tue Dec 04, 2007 4:57 pm

Hi Adam,
Yes, I have reported in the forum some rail issues recently with the 62 campaign only, regions that are supposed to have railway are shown as only track or wild.
Gray Lensman mentioned he will look at the scn file and havent seen others post regarding my findings yet.
