About Support Units ...

Sun Jun 03, 2007 7:31 pm

I have a question about support units in the game; units like Medical, Signal, Engineer, etc.

If they are in a stack with an Army HQ, do their benefits apply to related Corps/Divisions, as well? Or, must each Corp/Division stack have its own?

I think each stack needs its own.

Signal & balloon don't make any sense unless you apply them to a single stack, since they deal with command points. The tooltip for medical units specifically say that it applies to the stack the medical unit is part of.

River crossing and sharpshooters apply to the unit (i.e. division or brigade), IIRC

A few abilities actually benefit all units in a region. The manual is not clear on this as it says that Siege expert for example provides a one point bonus to the stack when this should be to all units in the region (you may have seperate stacks besieging the same structure and they only get one siege roll between them per turn)

An earlier note on this from Pocus :-
"Some abilities applies to something external to a stack, like the siege bonus, so the case is a bit special."
