Brown Water Blockade, How to?

Sat May 19, 2007 8:22 pm

There are some things about the brown water blockading of ports I just don't get. First off what is the blockade value of a naval element for? Does it matter at all? The sea zones say it requires 'x' number of units to blockade a zone, is a brig just as good as a frigate or ironclad or what? Another thing I have trouble with is figuring out which sea zones need to be blockaded in order to blockade a particular port. Is there an easy way to determine this? I really hope someone can help and I also hope I'm not being ridiculously stupid! :bonk:

The blockade rating only comes into play when calculating the effectiveness of blue water blockades (in the boxes).

The tooltip over the port corner of a city tells you the sea areas adjacent to the port, and all those need to be properly blockaded for the port to be blockaded.
