Update on the update?

Tue May 15, 2007 1:36 pm

I understand in a month. (hopefully before)
I know Pocus is working on the AI. Changes in how division HQs are implemented in the game has been greatly discussed also. Are you guys at a point where you can talk about any other changes on inhancements we can expect? Also when?

Phil has said that weather issues have been fixed, just not implemented in a patch yet. Is there any way possible that you guys could produce another quick fix patch for the weather like you have in the past. I am asking this totally in the dark because i have no idea how much work it would take to do this. Anyway just asking.

Thanks.

The weather issue is probably the most crucial for me. Difficult for me to adequately plan for movement due to the unrealistic weather patterns. That being said, the game is still a hoot to play.

You are correct. It's early January in my game and I am trying to move to move much needed units as a detachment from Little Rock to Ft. Smith and it is going to take 72 days due to the perpetual blizzard conditions. Hell, it'll be Spring by then. It's like a Russian winter. :bonk:

you are mistaking us :)

The work on the removal of divisions HQ will be done in a month, give or take some days. This does not means that you won't get regular updates and fixes often in the meantime. Actually, you will get one tomorrow, with one bug fixed, events fixed, several ai enhancements and I hope the new weather model.

The delay for the HQ work is because we prefer to have most issue fixed before checking that, as this is not an issue per se, but more of a streamlining, so there is no hurry. And by far this don't demand one month of work, thanks god!

Will the new update be compatible with 1.02e saved games or will we need to restart?

They have been so far (in most parts), and IIRC, Pocus has both said that patches rarely break savegames and that if they do, they'll be certain that it is announced properly.

In short, I wouldn't worry about till till proven otherwise :)

the work is not finished sorry, I'm rather reluctant to post what is still a beta patch. The new weather system is working for example, but we need to do some more testing. Give us 48h to be sure, so lets say friday evening.

What, you mean to tell us that more than 10 days will pass between the last patch and this new one ? :8o:
Pfff...! I knew it, as soon as a game developer starts to be successful, we the poor customers are forgotten... :p leure:

Yah, you know?

I still say we gotta get a duplicate copy of this "Pocus" thing into action, because I sense from its posts that the continuing work on AACW is getting a bit stressful for its radiation containment vessel. Think what it's gonna be like when the next game comes out and it has three empty tree trunks to fill with U-238 nuts...

All seriousness aside, I just have to say, in agreement with the sentiments of many others, that the efforts of M. Philippe Malacher are beyond the pale of any praise, and certainly superior to anything in game development and customer support I have witnessed elsewhere (and, being 900 years old, I've been around the block once or twice).

Gotta say, I have never seen anything like this outfit. Truly amazing devotion to getting their product just right. Outstanding support of the game. Thank you.
