training ability not working?

Wed May 02, 2007 5:15 pm

Hi all,

Got some time to look at the issue that some of you reported. I indeed spotted that divisions were excluded from training elements, but brigades should work. (1.02b soon then :siffle :)

I would like to request yet another time a saved game pointing me on a stack where training is supposed to happen and is not.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Pocus,

I've found that non of the abilties that should train units in some way seems to be working.
Both the one where conscripted are upgraded and the one that should give units in stack experience. Training officer and Training master. I assume just putting officers with those abilties into divisions should make them work, for that division.
Ill see if i can conjour up some save games. Sadly im hit by the save game issue, so i havent saved all my games. Well they been saved atop of each other, cuz i've been to lazy to do it manually. :siffle:
So any one else with saves please go ahead and send them to Ageod since im not sure i have any, any more.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

BTW, what exactly does a conscript infantry look like?

I my current game I have lots of cavalry with the (conscript) behind the name, but no infantry. I do see infantry with lower ratings than others (besides militia), are those guys supposed to be the "conscripts?"

Also, are the uniforms any indication of unit quality?

Even if you can't do a 'save under a new name', the game still save automatically for you up to 24 turns, so they are there.

There is a C letter in the infantry symbol.

Hmm, Pocus. I've yet to see a inf unit with C in its symbol, in my 3 campaigns.

The way i spot them, is partly by uniform and confirmed by unit detail.
It has conscript after infantry. Plus in type its descriped as line infantry. Other militia is type called militia.

2 picture included from same stack. Showing the 2 different types as i see them. Notice the different uniforms and way they are descriped in unit detail.

Feel free to correct me Pocus.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

P.S yes i know old saved are keept less u start a new similar campaign which by default is called the same :-(

my bad, there is not 'C' symbol, this was in an early build.

About trainers, I confirm there was 2 bugs, so the next update should clear things up. Something worth noticing: the training master only gives xp, and nothing else. And he gives one xp a turn, with a level needing at least 10-15 (and 2nd level even more). So be very patient.

A unit with 2 stars is already a veteran... There are 9 stars slots in the element detail, but this is a leftover from BOA, you will never see that.

Ah, here's another thing I didn't know. So, the maximum is 2 stars? Also, are you planning on removing the redundant stars from the unit card in a future update?

there is no absolute maximum, some units managed to reach 4 stars in BOA, so this can be done theorically in the AACW too.
