French intervention in Mexico

Mon Apr 30, 2007 4:45 pm

The French have intervened in Mexico. It seems that the CSA reaps the benefits from the French intervention, i.e., conquest of Veracruz and Mexico City. Is this correct?

Yes indeed...consider the benefits are kind of "improved smuggling through the Rio Grande & Mexican ports" kind of thing...not really historical but that's the best we can have now...

I don't see a problem with this being credited to the Confederates.

I'm sure French intervention anywhere in north or central America is bad news for the Union.

Good points. Guns, ammo, and medicine would be pouring across the Rio Grande.

Did you say "medicine"? You mean drugs, don't you? ;)
