Living off the land?

Is it possible for my cavalry units to live off the land as they raid deep into enemy territory?

Doktor: As the CSA I have one BDE bangin around US controlled Kentucky all winter and never suffered for loss of supply.

On the other hand, during that same time period, Nathan Bedford Forrest went not nearly as far into Ohio and suffered fatal consequences from lack of food and water. 8^(

Thanks. I'm not having much luck at all. The manual says there is a chance to forage for supplies, but my cavalry hasn't received much. One unit dissolved in Appalachia, another is dying in Arkansas.

be sure to forage in clear/plain or wood for greater chance of survival.
