The gaming public needs to know how good this game is. Even I, a BoA veteran, came by it by accident.
I flip-flop between classic wargames (BoA, SSG Decisive series, HOI2.DD, etc) and Roleplaying games (World of Warcraft). I burned out on WoW lately, so it was time to get back to some old fashion historical counter pushing.

I first tried Making History, The Calm and the Storm. Nice layout and concept, enept reality. Then HOI2.DD with Armaggedan (spell) add-on. Well Arma is bugged to hell. I reinstalled without the add-on, but ho-hum

been there, done that. I was looking forward to playing into the late '50s to the mid 60's that Arma offered.
Then I search the web, look in on Ageod (since I wanted to see what they were up to) and see AACW! Nice, but it hasn't been that long since I played BoA, and it is quite simillar, right?
But I love it. It seem as if the BoA system not only adapted to the ACW perfectly, it seems as if it was always meant for it. It reminds me of an old SPI boardgame "War Between The States". But with much greater detail and an AI
So many on this forum have tried to find a way to capture the essence of this game. I think I can say what it is.
This game is a Strategic/
Operation ACW game. It has the strategic elements of Forge of Freedom. But instead of going from Strategic to Tactical, AACW opts for the Operational level where timing and organization is everything.
