Lee

Sun Apr 15, 2007 5:44 pm

I am trying so hard not to ask stupid questions,as usually all becomes clear with practice.
But.......
Playing C.S.A. April61.
In sept.Lee arrives in Richmond.I can't create an army with the hq.saved for him because he is fixed I assume.(I have tried). The tooltip says that he is permanently fixed unless attacked.
So if I am brilliant enough to avoid an attack on Richmond he will take no part in the game?
Must I encourage my enemies "On to Richmond " by leaving the route empty ?
What if my Capital is Atlanta or Montgomery? Do I have to force my foes to undertake a "March to the sea" and also ensure they attack the appropriate places to gain Lee's participation.?
what have I not understood?
Postscript
While wrting this,my evening meal has gone cold and I'm in trouble from the cook\C-in-C. Do the folks at AGEOD know the problems their causing around the world?

I believe there is an event that makes Lee eligible for command (probably around the spring of 1862).
(Theory being for a long time Jeff. Davis found him important as an advisor and kept him from taking the field)

thanks Rickd79,answer makes sense ,I wonder if that info could be put on tooltip one day when Pocus is bored ,with nothing to do!
I feel perhaps I should send a food parcel to headquarters, forced to sit in their dungeon all day with only old ,cold scraps of food ,while the rest of us enjoy their labours.I suppose the millions they are going to make on the game make it all worth while.

Ah, but they are probably enjoying the game as much as we are. Food, who has time for that?

I just can't believe you, this must be hell err I mean heaven :)

Perhaps a solution to Lee problem would be to get a cosmetic ability on him, saying: 'This version of Lee is being warmed up, please wait a bit' ... or something more historical in flavor, as you wish.

A simple solution would be for an event when Lee appears that explains the situation. How he was called in, to advise Davis, but removed from field command for a period of time. Just explain the situation in the event as to why he's not available for use, excepot in defense of the capital.

Excellent suggestion
