Generals

Sat Apr 14, 2007 10:33 pm

Do Generals do any good unless they are in a Div, Corps, Army? Is there any point in putting them in with independent units?

For instance what do you do with all those first no face generals the Confederacy gets right away?

Yes, they'll provide leadership to any stack they're in. It is however, much improved with the use of HQs. Problem is, there just aren't enough to go around everywhere. I usually keep the ones I don't need in my offensive armies in my garrison positions just in case they have to deal with attacks or raids in the rear areas.

they provide command points, so this reduce the combat penalty. Do not hesitate to run a second time both tutorials, they are great in explaining these things!

Putting generals with independent units provide command points which reduce combat penalty BUT you take the risk not being activated with that force and so have a combat penalty...

But if they don't activate you can always remove them from the stack if you are desperate to perform an aggressive action (always seems a little odd to me this)

That's only really a desperate move... :niark:
