If the 'E' 'R' 'T' 'Y' keys stop having any effect you have cycled through all the units which can move which have not already been assigned orders. Its possible you may have locked all units via CTRL-L simply press CTRL-L again and eligible units will unlock.

CTRL-L shouldn't have any affect on cycling units. It just locks them so you can't accidently merge. 'S' will put a unit into Sentry mode so that it isn't accessed when you cycle through them. Normally, the keys only cycle through the units that don't have orders but CNTL (?, might be ALT) E,R,T,Y should cycle through the rest.

Does Sentry mode turn off at the start of next turn?

Frank E:

I tried again. I get from the first unit to a second unit, and then no more. Neither holding Ctrl nor Alt helps.

OK. It works in later scenarios. Maybe it doesn't cycle locked units ??

It shouldn't.

I just double checked.

It will cycle locked units that you locked the formation with CTRL-L or by right clicking the unit tab. It won't cycle units that are still locked in place (can't move) due to scenario setup or those that you placed in sentry mode.

CTRL-R will also cycle through the ones that have movement orders.

Pocus, working as intended? I thought one of the combinations should allow you to also cycle through those that were in sentry mode.

no, you can remove all sentry at once (CTRL-s) but you can't browse sentry units.

I just started my first campaign. During my turn I lost my place with my units and where I left off with my last set of commands. Reading the post above, I am trying to understand :

If I have 20 units on the map & I give move orders to 11 of them, lose my place then use the 'E' key, it will take me to the remaining 9 units that I did not issue any move orders yet ?

What is the difference between 'E' and 'R'
and
Ctrl 'E' and Ctl 'R'.
:bonk:
Ctl 'R' cycles through all 20 units including the 11 that received move orders?
If correct, what does Ctl 'R' do ?
:bonk:
I know for a fact that I missed some units in my first turn as I remember seeing in the Message Log following the turn resoultion that I had Generals awaiting my orders.... Oops ?

It was simpler keeping track of your units in the Scenario's, but now, wow, I looking for the easiest way to cycle through my units.

Thanks,

Chamberlain

E + R will cycle through units without any move orders
Adding "Ctrl" will additionally cycle through units with move orders.

However, none of these will cycle through units that are on "sentry" (my designation), i.e. that they don't have the little envelope in the uppere left corner of the unit icon, e.g. if you have pressed 'S' when that unit was selected.

I find "sentry" to be of quite some use, moreso if a bit more functionality is added, hopefully at some point in the not-too-distant future :)

Thanks Rafiki

I will continue my campaign now.

So the bottom line is that both the 'E' & 'R' key are the same ? There is no difference between them ? You can use either or ?
And that goes the same for the 'T' & 'Y', again they are the same ?

E cycles backwards, R cycles forwards (or vice versa; haven't found out what is forward and backwards in the cycle yet ;) )

T & Y are just the same in every regard as E & R, except that they work on naval rather than land units.

Rafiki,

Got it. I tried both keys and they worked as you stated. One for forward & one for backwards.

Thanks

Chamberlain
