CSA units will not attack Union force?

Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:15 pm

For several turns CSA forces will not attack a Union force apparently commanded by Hamilton. Both Beauregard and Johnston have been active and set to attack but it seems as if Hamiltion is not there. I have attached a couple of previous turns because McClellan has since smacked me around a bit. It could just be me!

If you load USA, you will see that in fact there are 2 Usa stacks in Appomatox, but both are just a lone general: Hamilton and Banks.
Lone generais are not attackable, IIRC. AI uses often this trick, of sending lone general "spies" inside enemy lines (you can do it too, but it's "gamey")
I only find a bit strange 2 things: that your forces actually spotted one of them and that they are entrenching. Is this WAD, lodi ?

Spotting them is WAD, not sure about entrenching.....
gamey gamey staff digginng trenches...
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Thank you very much... I never thought to load the USA turn. I had thought a loan general were in serious danger; this explains the lack of info on the tool tip when I hover over Hamilton. :-)

Lone Generals cannot dig trenches, but they can occupy them to prevent them from disappearing. It's gamey, unless you're shipping new troops in that turn, imho.
Two Rules: 1. The Tournament Director is always right. 2. When the Tournament Director is wrong, see Rule 1.

But I doubt Athena would do that (ie, using lone generals to keep a trench ?? )
