engies

Wed Dec 28, 2011 12:13 pm

I just observed a Union corps that contains an engie in a w/o Kentucky PBEM game. It moved from Culpeper to Nelson and established trenchnetworks in the same turn. So far so good. But from zero to level four (According to the sprite it shows, which menas it could even be level five)? Has it always been that way with engies and I never noticed it? Or is that a glitch? In sprites maybe?

Seems a bit fast.

What does the entrenchment icon in unit panel indicate?
Did the unit join another unit already there?

Please upload Save game showing this per these instructions:

Thanks for looking into it. Most likely I am missing something myself. I only have my part of the save of course, so no hst file or union trn.

Dix moved into Charlottesville, VA and conquered it. To best of my knowledge no Union troops were present. In the replay one can see how he moves in and builds up trenches. Now their icon is the same as my corps show with level 4-5 trenches.

It is 4, five days to reach the next level (limit 6).

Did the unit join another unit already there?

No, IIRC.

Here the backup folders.

I noticed Lee, with an engineer, went moved into a region and the next turn was at entrenchment 4. At the time, I assumed I just remembered it wrong, but now it seems he's fast. Very fast.

In the future, please note that I need \Backup1 and \Backup2 as per the instructions:
http://www.ageod.net/agewiki/Send_Saved_Game

It does me no good to have Restore Previous Turn take me back a year :bonk:

I'll try to recreate this myself for testing...
