I thought Lodilefty stated it clearly enough, but I'll repeat it for emphasis.

Any further "poison"-discussion will get this thread closed, especially since the main discussion probably has reached a natural conclusion with Lodi's comments about the upcoming patch.

What are we? A bunch of gossiping old hags, or are we players of wargames, interested in discussing the games we play?* ;)

New EXEs can be generated outside of work hours for old games... Then they are passed to volunteers like Lodilefty so they can test it and add updated data... Steve (Lodilefty) even create installer for beta patch now, so as you see we can still patch old games, thanks to community support.

The ongoing support of titles for years and years (ala weekend no pay work), the active participation on the boards forever, and vols like Lodi are all amazing and what brought me back to the AGEOD world now that I'm out of the high tech sales racket and have some hours of life back albeit sans the bucks. I get caught up in bugs and patches and when's it fixed and etc. and sometimes have to step back, do the gratitude thing and put it all in perspective as was done so succinctly (and rhetorically) by Rafiki.

Thanks all for giving me an oasis of historical replay immersion - great refreshment amidst the sometimes taxing realities of current day to day life.

And in case it hasn't been said...

glad to see you're feeling better, LL. And also back, and not just for the code pushing.

On the original topic - I've been playing rc4a forever now and I have seen ammo consumption, I would swear. Not a lot, to be sure, but I would say that the algorithm is there. The values? - eh, maybe need to be tweaked.

Geez, ya got ammo, man, rejoice and fire at will.

What if the program had never had Ammo Consumption in the first place, if it were amalgamated with Supplies? What you don't see, you never miss.

Let the Great Grey Gods of AGE figger it out and get back to us, the huddled masses yearning to war.

As I played 3 full PBEMs without noticing, it seems like I'm well able to play a couple others waiting for ammo consumption to come back without grumbling ;)

No ammo consumption favors offensive operations. A lot. In the short run it favors Confederate raiders, but in the long run it ought to speed Union victory. Maybe someone in the current AARs can disprove this ...

same here.. I think I also had ammo consumption in my pbems vs GS, but I didn't want to load all those turns up just to prove it!
