Hard Activation problems again.........

Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:52 pm

So, I'm playing with the hard activation rule on, and I noticed that one of my leaders wasn't activated, but could still move.

What's the deal?

Hi!

Most probably its WAD. Being Locked when not active is not automatic.
This parameters you can find on Command&Leaders.opt file (settings folder on your AACW installation) regulate hardened activation.
Its also modable just by changing the numbers there

fixHARuleChanceMC = 50 // Hardened Activation rule: Chance in per cent of being not fixed in case of 100% MC (linear scaled in case of less MC)
fixHARuleChancePartSupply = 10 // Hardened Activation rule: Chance in per cent of being not fixed in case of Partial Supply
fixHARuleChanceNoSupply = 20 // Hardened Activation rule: Chance in per cent of being not fixed in case of No Supply

Probably the first line is the explanation you are looking for.
When in a 100 friendly MC region, a inactive leader only locks his stack 50% of the time.
With low or no supply the chance of being not locked increase.

Cheers

But the tooltip when choosing the activation level says that an unactivated leader won't move at all.

Thus his query.

I guess the tool tip could be improved, but they can hardly explain every little nuance and formula used by the game engine :bonk: :)
Or they will occupy half the game screen ;)

Tooltip should perhaps read

"Unactivated leader will sometimes be locked"

:D

Yeah, it will be nearer the truth, but not very explicative either :D

Maybe something like "...will be locked when inactive on contested regions." :bonk:

"...have a chance to be locked when inactive on contested regions."

Allrighty, I guess I'll have to get over it. It was about one of my own leaders anyways, so I should probably be happy.

Thanks y'all.

How about this one?

Somewhat more vague but it allows for Pocus to change the non activated conditions as necessary. (This particular Tooltip resides in the LocalStrings__AGE.csv file which means it has to be generic enough for ALL the AGE games and not specific to AACW.) I was originally going to spell out the 3 exceptions above until I found it in the LocalStrings__AGE.csv file instead of the LocalStrings_ACW.csv file.

I think this needs to be changed for WIA and RoP as well ;)
