Order of Battle screen ?

Fri Dec 15, 2006 10:10 am

Considering the scope of the ACW, with so many units involved, I guess an user friendly OoB screen would be welcome (including units and leaders pictures not just plain text). What do you think ? it would be also nice to be able to rename armies.

Good idea...

I'd very much like to see a graphical OOB. It would be good if you could search easily of cut the data in a number of ways so that you could quickly find the unit you were looking for.

It would also be useful if you could then locate that unit on the map so you could relate the OOB to a unit's geographical location.

There is some update planned on the current OOB screen, with the possibility to filter out some units categories, but as we have to keep it within the size of the current ledger I'm unsure we will add units portraits.

It would also be useful if you could then locate that unit on the map so you could relate the OOB to a unit's geographical location.

You can click on the unit symbol to jump on the map where the unit is.

Would be nice if this feature could be extended to objectives and strategic towns, I'm not that good in american geography :bonk:

Already done in the objectives screen. Did you try to click on the small flags? :)

In BoA, yes, i have been clicking everywhere without effect...

But I had not noticed you upgraded the ledger in the AACW Beta. On my way to test... :gardavou:

What would be nice is some way to 'come back' from the map to the ledger at the place in the list where you just left it.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to get this feature to work. Within the Victory points and objectives screen, if I click a flag to the right of a controlled objectives location, other than exercising my finger, nothing happens. It would certaintly be a much appreciated feature if you could get to geographic locations by clicking on them from within the Forces Listing screen. *hint, hint* :sourcil:

Either way, I can easily live with things just as they stand now. When you stop and think about it; it's truly a testament to the quality design and robustness of BoA when it's little tweaks like this that players ask for, and not fixes to game breaking challenges that plauge some other titles out there.

On the objectives screen, it works for AACW.

On the Forces Listing, it works in both game by clicking on the small NATO symbol.

OOB list would be very welcomed. When manipulating with units or when you just would like to see what you have in your army some OOB graphics would be very nice. Just a suggestion :siffle:

EDITED

Found the answer :sourcil:
Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. Making 31 Yankees personally killed, and 30 horses lost...

He remarked, "I ended the war a horse ahead."

ok, I was going to answer that contrary to some other games, you can have your army (which is the army HQ + some support units, not the whole army) in a region, and each corps in others regions. And it makes sense ;)
