A Warning for CSA General Supply.

Tue Mar 31, 2009 6:53 am

One of my PBEM has reached Oct 64 and I have been having some general supply problems even though the blackboard at the top of the screen says I have 6700. I thought this number was the total of my continental CSA general supply that is on the map, but there wasn't any way I had 6700 to draw from. So after studying I found my missing supply points:
1000 Upper Canada
500 Lower Canada
1000 Great Britain
1000 France
500 Bahamas
300 Vera Cruz
500 Jamaica
500 West Indies
5300 total.

So 5300 general supply isn't accessible to you.

I am probably the only one here who doesn't know this but I thought I would write it anyways.

Wow...I had NO idea the game displayed supplies in those areas as "belonging" to the CSA. Great find man.

The game also includes the ammo stocks (half the general supplies figure) for those regions for the CSA as well.

Edit, there are also some neutral regions that are counted for the Union as wel. Fgiures as follows

Region - Supply / Ammo
Vera Cruz - 500 / 250
Mexico Cirt - 1000 / 500
Chihuahua - 184 / 94
Nico - Icon

A thousand cycles to come
A thousand times to win
A thousand ways to run the world'

Maybe related to showing replacements for Mexico as the Union.

Nice catch!

Gray, maybe the tooltip info could be changed?

It involves not having any supply pre-located in those areas until the event fires that actually activates those areas. This'll have to be tested to ensure that the forces pre-stationed in those same areas don't deteriorate from lack of supply, which I don't think will happen but only play-testing will confirm.

If the forces do deteriorate, could you just have the forces and supplies enter as part of the activate event?

In my game I am down to a line from Montgomery AL to Charleston SC (including Florida) and everything else is lost from the Succession. So got the calculator out and added up all my on map supply which was way short. Then I thought maybe the blackboard number included the supply my units carried with them. But that way short too. That's when I looked at the off-map boxes. This will make it tougher for the CSA to survive into 65. The CSA will have to use even more discipline not to create too large an army. Or could use industrialisation.
