Towns in ACW era

Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:14 am

Ok. Before I start looking for the info I would like to know do you need it :niark: .
Few months ago I found a site with sizes of towns in ACW era. Are you interested in such info? If yes, I would need few days to find it and then could provide such info.
Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. Making 31 Yankees personally killed, and 30 horses lost...

He remarked, "I ended the war a horse ahead."

The only size info that we need is that for the towns displayed in the game (as sprites on the map)...it's only a small part of the existing towns in the USA/CSa at the time.

We already have some demographic and industrial info, so I guess this research is not really urgent.

What is may be more urgent is to check the map names for the various regions (especially west of the Mississippi)...after next week, we shall no longer make map changes (or we delay the game too much :p leure: )

beside that, some towns had to be added, either because they played a role historically, or to have cities every 5 regions or so at minimum, this will be better for the supply net.
