patches

sorry for my ignorance in these matters, but can anyone clarify some points for me, i have downloaded the latest patch ie 1.02e, but my icon in the main folder is still displying version 1.00, the patch is there as 1.02e and i have unzipped it, does the icon always display version 1.00 or have i made a mistake somewere

It kinda sounds like you haven't run the patch executable....

Once you "unzip" the file, you should have another file with an .exe extension. Double-click on this executable, and follow the instructions. It should install the patch to your game.

once you unzip the file from the archive (on your desktop for example), double click on it. You should have a window poping up asking you to install the patch.

Also,
After you start the game, while the black load screen is displayed,
in the bottom right corner will be the version number.
If it says 1.02e then it is working.

One problem. It will still say 1.02d, which is just a display error that will be corrected, I am sure. Once you get that (assuming that you have installed the most recent version), you are good to go with 1.02e ... until things change ... and they're gonna ...

As far as the icon characteristics are concerned ,that will remain as 1.00 et cetera, as it is the icon version, not the patch version, that is being referenced there.
