Standard Bearer! : Help AGEod develop

Fri Oct 12, 2007 8:30 am

Dear players,

Some of you already know a bit about the challenges that a small studio as our faces everyday (no I'm not speaking how my colleagues must deal with my irrate temper  ).

We live for and by the players, and to be even more precise if most of the players are buying direct from us.
Second, even if the vast majority of you think that our games are really good, we are far from being known. And a good but unknown product is in the end a bad product, financially wise (which led to the demise of the company in the end!).

Rest assured, I'm not saying that AGEod is in bad shape, but we are far from being known by the vast majority of strategy gamers out there, and that is a big euphemism. Which is really a pity, because most of the players discovering our games like them!

So, after this long intro, back to the point: :innocent:

We need you! We need that you speak of our games. And if you are willing to support us with a banner in your sig, in the various forum where you dwell, then it is even better.

And without further delay, here they are

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/AGE_banner_big.jpg

will link to a banner which will change once in a while. This is the preferred method, but you can link specifically to the game of your choice (see below).

These days, the 'mutating' banner link point to:
Image

--------------------------------------------------

The 'hard coded' banners are:

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/NCP_banner_big.jpg
Image

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/NCP_banner_big2.jpg
Image

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/NCP_banner_big3.jpg
Image

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/BOA_banner_big.jpg
Image

http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/AACW_banner_big.jpg
Image

How to proceed. Do a right click on the link provided, then copy. Then go to a forum of your choice, where you are registered and where adding a banner in the sig poses no problem (most...). Edit your profile, and add this to your sig (replace the name of the banner by the one you really want to use, in the example I use the 'mutating' one):

img]http://ageoddl.telechargement.fr/banners/AGE_banner_big.jpg[/img]

Add a bracket [ as the first character in the line above, like [img], if I do that our forum would change the line into the image, and this is not what I want in the example

Sometime the [img] tag is not understood, you have to use [image], which would make:

Keep up with good work, it takes time to build a well-known brand and u're playing it perfectly.

I've been (or am) a beta for MPS labs, for Pterodon, for Creative Assembly, for the U.S. Army, for Evenbalance and for at least 20 Mod projects.
15 years (and counting) of "career" and i had never seen such an open minded and committed company as AgeOD to the players.

All you need is time. As of the banners, I'll take the 3rd NPC one, thanks for the easy links. :)

Heh, the only forums I access at all are these and Paradox'. Unfortunately, signature banners aren't allowed at Paradox.

But the word will be spread where it can be :)

Coincidentally, I tried to add your banner at Paradox last night, but couldn't. I never miss an opportunity to sing your praises on the few forums that I frequent. I really think that Napoleon's Campaigns will be your breakout release. Just keep doing what you have been doing and fame and fortune will surely follow. :leprechau

LoL!! Me too! I was unfairly banned (of course) from BFC and the Wargamer (for getting in the face of fatuous fan-boys.) It was OK for them vice-versa. I have suggested that all my gamer friends try your games (both of them!). Larry

A few days ago, i "reviewed" AACW on my tournament website.

One of the boys (a guy who is hosted on one of my gameservers) asked me for the DEMO URL. I gave him...then thought about this no more.

The boy MSNed me telling me that his older brother just bought the game today...looks like you'll have to cope with another italian player :)

In order to help the marketing effort, I've created this movie file showing the first turn processing. File can be played in Windows media player.

The same could be done with NCP.

I will do another movie with unit movement planning

It doesn't seem to work at Matrix either :bonk: .

Great idea! :cwboy:

Is this suppose to have sound too? I feel it lacks some kind of comment about what you are doing.

It could, but :

1) I can't speak English
2) the file size would be yet greater. And I'm for now limited to 100Mo :p leure:

This remind me of what Eddy Sterckx did for COTA. As Korrigan said, a voice over is missing. Perhaps we can ask a native english to do the acting?

Would it be possible to provide some small banners (e.g., 88 x 31 px), too?

Is there a banner for WIA available that is not flash-animated, but gif, png or jpg instead? :indien:

The closest one we have for now is:

Will need some artistic edit to be in the proper format.

Hi, Havely here. This is a serious post, with no humor intended.

I see that this post from Pocus is over a year old. If you still have a need for an English speaking voice, I will volunteer, if you would like. I speak English with a Southern accent, but I believe that with a small amount of practice I could hide my accent. Plus, you would have the surprise of a woman's voice.

If not me, then I believe that my husband ("Dixiecrat") would be happy to help you. He has a deep, beautiful voice, and almost no accent.

Hope we can help!
Havely

PS I have been told a few times in my life that my voice is very feminine. Maybe this would be a good thing, for your company. Since voices like that tend to, uh, "attract the attention" of men, let us say.

Voices acting? well why not, do you know how to capture that into a file? Also, we always wanted to have some video/audio tutorials also, would you be interested in being the Voice?

Ehhm, in that case I would of course volunteer for test audience. I might just need to compile the "best" texts. :niark:

I would absolutely LOVE this! I don't know any technical stuff, but I'm sure that I have friends on the forums who can help me with this. Let me ask a few questions around here, and then I will send you a PM that we're ready. Maybe you can have a text prepared for me to read, and then I'll just make the file and send it back! This is going to be such FUN!
