Rebuilding lost regiments/legions/etc.?

Thu Jan 03, 2013 1:16 pm

Howdy,

Would it be possible for the AGEOD team to implement a feature where the completely destroyed regiments, squadrons, legions, etc. do not just disappear, but appear after a specific time on the map in a city (with very low manpower, symbolising the fact that the military unit is being rebuilt with fresh recruits around a cadre of the original veterans/survivors)?

This was done a lot of times in military history, and frankly, after spending hours fighting together with your pixel-legions, you sort of get attached to them.

I don't know if this sounds silly or not, but just an idea.

Regards & all the best

Was thinking about this the other day, it's something that really should be a basic mechanic in most wargames.

Reconstituting units is a tactic done and not done by various countries through history. Seems like a variable that the AGEOD team could implement, but the 'bleeding out' of units is also done more often done than not. Hitler bled out his units, as did the south during the civil war as well as various European powers. Could be an option, but I prefer the veteran principle applied to weakened units rather than rebuilding old ones with new recruits.
